SCIOS is the quality system for inspection and maintenance of technical installations. The 'scopes' determine which type of installation you are allowed to inspect. Two of them come up most often among installers: Scope 8 and Scope 10.
Scope 8: combustion installations
Scope 8 covers the maintenance and inspection of combustion installations running on gas, oil or biomass. Think of central heating boilers, air heaters and larger heating appliances. The focus is on safe combustion and correct discharge of flue gases.
Scope 10: electrical equipment
Scope 10 is about the inspection of electrical installations and work equipment for fire risk. It is strongly linked to the requirements set by insurers. Where Scope 8 is about combustion, Scope 10 is about electrics.
Keep it simple: Scope 8 is fire, Scope 10 is power.

Why the logbooks matter so much
- An inspection without a logbook is hard to demonstrate to an insurer or inspection body.
- Each scope has its own intervals and findings - mixing them up costs you a re-inspection.
- Digital logbooks per object prevent a report from getting lost between two service visits.
In Installatiedossier you keep the Scope 8 and Scope 10 logbooks per object, including findings and remediation deadlines. That way the right report is always with the right installation.
