NEN 1010 is the standard for low-voltage installations. At handover it requires a final inspection consisting of a visual inspection and a series of measurements. Below is a practical checklist to make sure you forget nothing.
Visual inspection
- Have the right protective devices been applied and correctly selected?
- Is the installation soundly built and in line with manufacturer instructions?
- Are connection points, cables and distribution boards correctly marked?
- Is documentation such as schematics and distribution board schedules present?
Measurements
- Continuity of protective conductors.
- Insulation resistance of the installation.
- Operation of the residual-current protection.
- Voltage drop and short-circuit current where applicable.
A measurement without a record is a measurement you get to redo later.
